First ICDP activities took place in July 2019.

An ICDP introductory course was held in the city of Halabja, in North Iraq. It was delivered to a group of parents in their native Kurdish language.

The training was conducted by Rebaz Abdullah on voluntary basis and it took place at the Halabja office of a local organization called, “Youth Activities Developing Centre”.

Rebaz is planning to continue with ICDP in 2020.

About the “Youth Activities Developing Centre”:

This center was founded on August 20th, 2008, to offer youth development services to the youth in Halabja through its various departments. Although the Youth Activity Center building, rented by Kurdistan Save the Children, is small, the center team continues to provide quality services to the youth in the area, which is provided through the centers different departments.

The total number of beneficiaries for the year 2018 reached 6743 young people. Some of the activities for the year 2018 include: Opening 24 musical courses for different musical instruments in which 936 youths benefitted as well as conducting 5 concerts and 2 Festivals, opening 12 sculpting courses in which 951 young people benefitted as well as opening 13 art exhibition, opening 3 English courses in which 237 young people benefitted, opening 10 sewing courses in which 540 youths benefitted and conducting 3 poetry readings. The total number of beneficiaries for the sport department reached 467 young people.
