2019: Claudia Marcela Rojas, an experienced ICDP trainer who has been working with the ICDP programme for almost twenty years in Colombia, is currently living in Montreal, Canada. During 2019, Claudia trained a small team of four professionals as ICDP facilitators: Consuelo is from Colombia, Helen, Edward and Ophelia are from Venezuela. This ICDP team is be able to work in three languages: French, Spanish and English. Claudia started to work on forming an ICDP organization, which she hopes to register with the Quebec government. The aim is to work on spreading the ICDP programme by making agreements for training and cooperation between the newly formed ICDP organization and the relevant local partners who work for the benefit of children and families.
2020: In the early autumn, ICDP established cooperation with two Iranian professionals, Laleh Javaheri and Anita Zangeneh. Their background is in counselling and psychology and they have been working with parents for a number of years, both through government and private networks. Their aim is to introduce the ICDP programme to Iranian families living in Vancouver and other parts of Canada, which is why they contacted ICDP. Having attended the first phase of ICDP training online, they are now translating ICDP materials, as well as preparing local photos and videos – they are using this material in their self-training projects with caregivers. They have been discussing how to adapt ICDP for Zoom meetings with parents, with their ICDP trainer, Nicoletta Armstrong, who will be providing support to them throughout their practical work with parents.
